After their bath, the boys morph into elves, thanks to these baby hats I made for them. I traced another hat we found in their pile of cousin hand-me-downs, and made a simple pattern for it. This one is made with the knit cotton fabric of an old pajama of mine, and I really like the way it looks. As their heads grow, I plan to adjust the size and make more for them- until they are old enough to say “enough, mama!”
I have the secret hope they won’t be in a hurry to say it!

We were invited to a birthday party the other day. In addition to the bought gifts, I wanted the birthday kids (4-year-old twins) to also have something handmade. I feel that kids today have very little access to handmade things, and they don’t have the chance to appreciate the uniqueness of something made just for them.

With very little time for something fancy, I appliqued each kid’s initial and made 2 drawstring bags. My theory of “one can’t have too many drawstring bags” applies to all ages, and the sooner one starts collecting them, the more they ‘ll end up having 🙂

I hope the kids will find lots of treasures to store in them!

Not surprisingly, I have very limited time for crafts and making, and even less for blogging. The other day, though, I just HAD to make this blanket for the boys. It is a simple flannel sheet on top with some beige cotton at the bottom, and an old shower curtain in between for extra water proof action.
Not sure if it is to protect the boys from the wet ground when out in picnics, or the floor from the boys, when they go commando 😉 Either way, it was a quick and fun project, and the boys seem to enjoy it!
